I worked the pantry at Davenport Elementary today. We at the Davenport Merchants Association have donated 15 drawstring-type backpacks to the Food Pantry. These bags are used by children whose parents cannot come to the Food Pantry for whatever reason. The bags are filled with canned goods and such for the child to take home the day of the Food Pantry and give the content to their family and return the bag the next day back to the school. We at the Davenport Merchants Association want to make sure every family that has a child at Davenport Elementary can benefit from the Food Pantry. The Food Pantry is only available to the family of a student or staff member in need at this time. I distributed the bags this morning. The school greatly appreciates receiving the bags. In November of 2024 Davenport Merchants Association hosted our annual Big Belly BBQ Bash to raise money for Freedom Tour Disaster Relief to help with the people effected by Hurricane
Helene. We at the Davenport Merchants are so happy we could help.
The week of May 5th, 2025 was teacher appreciation week. The Merchants Association is so thankful for all the hard work teachers do to educate our children. As a thank you, the Davenport Merchants sponsored a teachers luncheon at Davenport Elementary on the 6th of May.
